SOBER-COOL – a magazine for teenagers in Russian

SOBER-COOL is a magazine that is made for teenagers and by teenagers. It is published in Russian language in printed and electronic version. It discusses lifestyle and substance abuse topics and their place in human life. A great part of the magazine’s pages is devoted to the topics of tobacco and problems related to it. We show different themes and look at tobacco problems from different points of view. For example, we discuss how to say no and how to quit, publish different opinions on environmental tobacco smoke, and think about how teenagers may deal with smoking around them. We also discuss some other problems that may be important for teenagers. We are always keen to publish our readers’ opinions and to know what they think about our materials. We often answer to their questions in our issues.

‘SOBER-COOL’ usually contains original articles and stories, translations of different materials and news from abroad. Our authors live in different places in Russian-speaking countries and we communicate mostly by Internet

Our magazine was first issued in 1998 as ‘Children Temperance Paper’. Nowadays ‘SOBER-COOL’ is a monthly periodical. Its electronic version is at http://adic-ukraine.narod.ru/sober-cool/ and has about 1000 visitors per month. E-mail: sober-cool@mail.ru. We also have e-mail mailing lists.
