Alcohol and Drug Information Centre (ADIC - Ukraine)

Daria Semenova was born on October 10, 1987 in Kazan, Russia.

She was somehow engaged in alcohol and tobacco prevention activities since she was 10. For 5 years, she had been a chief editor of a teenage magazine called SOBER-COOL, which deals with role of substance use and abuse in lives of youngsters. Its periodical issues were published since February 1998 up to May 2003.

In June 2002, she participated in the 3rd European Conference on Tobacco or Health in Warsaw.

he is an author of fiction book ‘Smoke realms’ published in Russian and Ukrainian in June 2003. It describes life of a young advocate who encounters different tobacco control problems and tries to find some way out.

In spring 2004 she took part in conducting international survey “Tobacco and Movies”. Later, she participated in the events around 2004 Altria Meeting in East Hanover, NJ, on April 27-29, and in Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids 2004 Youth Advocates of the Year Awards Gala and Symposium on May 1-5 in Washington, DC.

In November 2004, she was a trainer in Lviv (Ukraine) at seminar, whose purpose was to prepare youth from Ukraine and Belarus for creating a magazine on different challenging social problems including tobacco use.

In 2002-2006 she has been also working with the web-site of ‘Tobacco Control Resource Center for the countries of the former Soviet Union’ project.
